Tuesday started off as a beautiful day with the promise of temperature into the 79's. It was warm inside the cockpit as the day progressed and the trip was comfortable. We even got the sails out a couple of times.
However, by mid afternoon the winds began to pickup, noaa was predicting 20-25 with gusts to 40 for the overnight and all day Wed. Initially we had planned to stop at Redbird Creek but with hours left in the day and high winds coming we put in another 6 miles and tucked in nicely in Kilkenney Creek. No sooner had we settled in when the winds slammed us!
